An article was recently published on KSL.com that referenced a “Nephite Coin”. I remembered seeing the picture of the coin in one of the treasure books. The author of the treasure book shows it as being a Nephite coin (as it was once believed to be) and uses it as evidence of ancient treasure in Utah. The article shows that it’s really a British East India coin and that the info was known at the time of the treasure books publishing. Be careful in taking too much stock in what you read, some people jump to conclusions and don’t do the needed research.
It is however still a mystery how it became buried 10’ deep near city creek before the pioneers got here, but this article poses a few plausible conclusions.
