We have explored a few holes on West Mountain. Most mines are collapsed or covered over since they can be accessed fairly easily.

This mine had a fairly large tailing pile below it, which tells us it went much further into the mountain than we got.

One of the holes on the West side of the mountain is a natural cave that blows warm air. There are often rattlesnakes in the entry, so please take caution before entering.

The inside is narrow and has a few very tight squeezes.

This was a natural cave that had been mined on the South end of the mountain.

Looking down into one of the many natural caves on the mountain.

There also used to be a lot of Indian writings all along the North end of the mountain. Most have been taken or vandalized now but a few good ones still remain if you look closely.
